About me:
I
have been working as a freelance writer since 2004. I specialize in
science, nature and health writing; religious or spiritual issues;
feature writing; profiles; essays and in-depth research -- but I'm
always ready to tackle a new challenge. I write third-person and
first-person narrative nonfiction as well as succinct coverage of
hard-hitting news. I've covered a wide variety of topics for
newspapers, magazines, websites and trade publications, and my research
has taken me everywhere from presidential visits to remote desert
canyons. I infuse my writing and my life with attention to the
stories-within-stories, the intimate, nuanced details I see all around
me. I often take my own photographs, but I also enjoy working with
photographers and graphic artists to plan visual aspects of my stories,
and am never at a loss for ideas. I also have experience as an editor
and copy editor.
